Problem since 2.6.30 kernelHowdy,
Since 2.6.30 kernel I have crashes on the ppp system, and on the pptpctrl. I've posted the same information to the Linux netdev@ mailing list, and so far no info. I don't know if this is some regression bug on kernel, or something that is needed to be adjusted on poptop server. The only info I have is two screenshots from the kernel crash. http://neotrix.decimal.pt/dbmail/ppp_1.jpg http://neotrix.decimal.pt/dbmail/ppp_2.jpg Hope this can help you help me :-) Jorge, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes! Re: Problem since 2.6.30 kernelI see,
I have to wait for the fix/patch revert on kernel then, since I don't want/can't go back with the kernel version. Tell me, How can I know when this will be on a GIT version of kernel? Re: Problem since 2.6.30 kernelI would just move to the kernel module instead, which eliminates PPP
interface to a TTY pair. You also get the better performance. Re: Problem since 2.6.30 kernelHum... can you explain this better?
I have no idea what you are talking but it seems interesting.. :) Jorge, > -----Original Message----- > From: Michael da Silva Pereira [mailto:michael@...] > Sent: terça-feira, 7 de Julho de 2009 16:45 > To: Jorge Bastos > Cc: 'James Cameron'; poptop-server@... > Subject: Re: [Poptop-server] Problem since 2.6.30 kernel > > I would just move to the kernel module instead, which eliminates PPP > interface to a TTY pair. > You also get the better performance. > > > Jorge Bastos wrote: > > I see, > > I have to wait for the fix/patch revert on kernel then, since I don't > > want/can't go back with the kernel version. > > > > Tell me, > > How can I know when this will be on a GIT version of kernel? > > > > > > Jorge, > > > > > > > >> On Tue, Jul 07, 2009 at 10:20:59AM +0100, Jorge Bastos wrote: > >> > >>> The only info I have is two screenshots from the kernel crash. > >>> > >> Matches a known problem. > >> > >> Have a look at > >> > http://groups.google.com/group/linux.kernel/browse_thread/thread/851669 > >> 295ee4017a/242172d3151f1eca?lnk=raot > >> > >> -- > >> James Cameron mailto:quozl@... > >> http://quozl.netrek.org/ > >> > >> -------------------------------------------------------------------- > --- > >> ------- > >> Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge > >> This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes! It may already be in a git repository of several of the developers, but if you mean when will Linus accept it, only Linus can answer that. Usually happens within a month or two. If there is a kernel bug number associated, then watching the kernel bug may tell you when the fix is released. There was a fix discussed in that thread, have you tried it? -- James Cameron mailto:quozl@... http://quozl.netrek.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes!
