Problem since 2.6.30 kernel

Howdy,

Since 2.6.30 kernel I have crashes on the ppp system, and on the pptpctrl.
I've posted the same information to the Linux netdev@ mailing list, and so
far no info.
I don't know if this is some regression bug on kernel, or something that is
needed to be adjusted on poptop server.

The only info I have is two screenshots from the kernel crash.

Hope this can help you help me :-)
Jorge,

Matches a known problem.

Have a look at

I see,
I have to wait for the fix/patch revert on kernel then, since I don't
want/can't go back with the kernel version.

Tell me,
How can I know when this will be on a GIT version of kernel?

I would just move to the kernel module instead, which eliminates PPP
interface to a TTY pair.
You also get the better performance.

I'm not fully familiar with kernel development processes.

It may already be in a git repository of several of the developers, but
if you mean when will Linus accept it, only Linus can answer that.
Usually happens within a month or two.

If there is a kernel bug number associated, then watching the kernel bug
may tell you when the fix is released.

There was a fix discussed in that thread, have you tried it?

I agree, that would be better.  Is this kernel module included in
kernel.org upstream yet?

Well maybe there is, I've opened one but for sure there's another one more
official.
I think the best is to check the -RC version changelog's.
