Problem typing open parentheses

I have only noticed this problem in Chrome, so it may be a Chrome issue.  I'm not sure where to start in the debugging process so I'm trying here.

Whenever I type an open parenthesis ( in the text box, it deletes whatever I have typed up to that point, including the paren.  Close parentheses ) are fine.

Has anyone seen this behavior before?  Thanks.
