Problem with Liability Accounts

I was using KMyMoney 0.8.0 (Using KDE 3.5.10) in PC-BSD and KMyMoney worked well.  I went to use Ubuntu with KMyMoney 0.9.2 (Using KDE 3.5.10), and there is one problem.  When transfering money in liability accounts, I cannot use the negative sign with the keyboard--I have to used the calcualtor -/+ sign.  For example, if I want to transfer $100 from libility Account X to libility Account Y, in the past I would type in the details and put a "-" in front of the 100 and all was well.  Now if I use that method, it increases the libility just like the negative sign was not there.  Is there a fix for this?  This is one extra step that is frustrating.

Thank you,

Rex Bristol

Hello Rex,
I can confirm this. To work around it, you can change the combobox next to the payee from "Pay to:" prior to entering the transaction.

The odd thing is that entering the negative when you edit the transaction will change it the way you want to, but it doesn't work on initial entry.

Alvaro

I ran into a similar problem a while back. Someone on this list told me to check my KDE Settings.

Look under "Regional & Language". In the "Money" tab make sure the drop down list below "Negative" sets the "Sign Position" to "Before Quantity Money".
