Problem with copy/paste

Hi,


I came back to qdvdauthor after about 2 years break (when I didn't do
any dvd disk) and it looks definitely more stable than older version.
What is more there are many more features available. Good work Varol!

I have a question about an use of copy/paste. When I select an object
(or objects) I can right click and choose Copy or Cut (in case of Cut
object is removed from a screen). Unfortunately I can't paste it again.
Edit->Paste is inactive. This option is useful when you want to have a
few similar labels/button only with changed label/destination. I wonder
if I did something wrong or that feature just waits for its
implementation?

Tested with version 1.10.0.


Btw, would it be possible to keep context menu visible after right click
on a text/button? Currently I disappear immediately after a release of
mouse button. It works fine when clicked on background or a group of
selected objects.

Hey,

I had to compile the version again, as it is quite old by my standards now.

I am currently re-working, the whole Edit, Cut, Past, Undo, Redo, Delete
etc.

But for your version you can Copy the object and then right click inside
the DVDMenu to get the context menu. You should see an item like "Paste
(Text Object)"

The main men items are 'dormant' in your version but they work in the
current CVS version as expected ( I hope )

If it works fine in your current version there is no problem I
will check it again by the way of the next release.

It's not so easy to find it, but definitely it's there and works :).

One more suggestion. Pasted object (objects group) could remains
selected to allow easy move it to some other place.

And one more thing :).
ESC could bring an object dragged with left mouse
button back to its original place (in case you change your mind and
want to cancel dragging).

I'd just like to add another voice in support of this suggestion.

The usability importance of being able to abort a drag operation can't
be stressed enough, for those of us who are sometimes -- to put it
plainly -- a bit clumsy with the mouse. :)  (Or simply have a habit of
operating their wireless mouse using the couch cushion as a mousing
surface, which can occasionally result in less-than-precise input.)
