Problem with saving settings in konqueror

(Mdv2009.0)

I tried doing the following, but was unable to save the setting:

+ changing the size of displayed icons
+ enabling tool tips
+ binding applications with file extensions
  (in this case xfig with .fig)

How can such settings be save so that they are available in
future sessions?
