Problems with Send View

I am finding problems with Ka-Map's "send this view to a friend" function.  It composes the email correctly.  When I click the link to open the view, it displays the correct extent.  But it does not include the map layers that should be turned on.  It seems like it is displaying layers that are on by default in the application. Has anyone found a solution for this?
