Problems with many files, refreshes, locks

I'm evaluating SmartSVN for purchase and I'm running into many many problems.

First, I have 6 working copies in 1 project using the new multiple projects feature.  My total file count for the 6 working copies is well over 150,000 files.

The problems I'm running into is that each working copy does not seem to be expandable and shows no sub folders or file until I refresh that folder.

Actual refreshes take forever and seem to never end.

Every time I close SmartSVN, all my files become locked and I must run a clean up, which also seems to run forever and never end.

At this point, it's been refreshing forever and all my working copies do not show expandable, even though there are many sub-directories and files in each of them.  I don't get what I'm doing wrong or if the file numbers and folder amounts are just too much for SmartSVN?

If I can't fix these problems, I will need to start evaluating other software so that I can continue to work as I'm currently losing production time.
