Having worked without problem for some years, I can no longer mount removeable devices on my FC8 system. When I click on the desktop icon, I get a pop-up which says:
A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member "Mount" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.Hal")
rpm --verify hal-info-20080607-2.fc8
rpm --verify hal-0.5.10-5.fc8
rpm --verify hal-libs-0.5.10-5.fc8
rpm --verify ConsoleKit-libs-0.2.3-3.fc8.1
rpm --verify ConsoleKit-x11-0.2.3-3.fc8.1
rpm --verify ConsoleKit-0.2.3-3.fc8.1
all produce no output, so I'm not sure what to check next.
SELinux has always been disabled at boot time.
