Progress bar?

Not sure progress bar is a good name for it but...  When one compiles a
firewall under where it says "compiling" there is a progress/status bar
which advances during compilation. When it's finished, it displays 2
numbers like 0/66 or 66/66.  I know the bottom number is the number of
rules. What is the top number?

there are two progress bars in that dialog, the top one shows the
number of firewalls compiled and the bottom one shows number of rules
compiled for the current firewall. The top one makes sense when you
compile multiple firewalls in a batch.

Yes, but beside the one that shows the number of rules compiled for the
current firewall what would (for example) the 6 in 6/67 indicate?  I've
seen this number (the 6) change and at times it may be 67/67. So I
wondered what this number is and what causes it to change?

Thanks.

I guess you refer to the number of rules. Progress bar shows total
number of something and the current number and as the bar is updated,
the current number is updated. Updates may not execute smoothly
though, compiler processes rules in the background and the GUI
refreshes presentation periodically. If compiler steps through the
rules fast, the GUI may jump to larger numbers and the bar may update
faster then at the step of just 1 rule.

If I misunderstood, please send the screenshot of the bar you refer to.
