Hello,
I've recently started translating Xubuntu and noticed the redundancy in
the Tagalog(TL) and Filipino(FIL) translations. The official language in
the Philippines was changed from Tagalog to Filipino - the only
difference is the name. There's no change in the structure of the
language itself. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
I wish to push for the merging of Tagalog to Filipino translation, then
retain Filipino and discard Tagalog, but I first need your input on this
before I try to contact upstream and Ubuntu devs regarding this.
*note: I proposed this to our LoCo last year but was told that upstream
still prefers Tagalog over Filipino - but I believe it's already due for
a change.
