Propose a Java mobile GIS application from Vietnam

Dear all,

May I introduce you a mobile GIS application of our team from Vietnam - JVNMobileGIS (http://jvngis.googlepages.com/home2). We have developed this application with Java ME and have tested it on many Java phones successfully. It mainly get PNG map image from public online WMS server.

Our team is belong to JavaVietnam.org (http://www.javavietnam.org) - a Java community in Vietnam.

It's our honor to be introduced in OGC's November newsletter  (http://www.opengeospatial.org/pressroom/newsletters/200611/#C4)

We are willing to open source our application and contribute our code to your project, it will be good for all of us.
And our team can join your project as developer.

Sounds like a good start to me.  It would be interesting to also see how hard it would be to port it to c++, just for fun.  I believe the group has previously discuss using c++ for portability across operating systems, but I assume there is also interest in Java apps to help with the portability.

This is all easy for me to say, because I'm only a user and won't be doing any programming in this project.  I'll leave it to the developers on the list to provide more useful feedback.

Could you provide some details about Windows CE platform support?
Have you tried your software on Windows CE-based operating systems like
Windows Mobile for Pocket PC or Smartphone?
If you have, what Java implementation did you use?

Hello Mateusz Loskot,

I have tried this software on Windows Mobile 3.0 Pocket PC, it runs smoothly with IBM J9 Virtual Machine. The drag feature worked well.
