BELOW is a copy of the proposition which I had offered to Mr. Allen (2005) in regards to the creation of a current, Official, OPEIU Local 30 website. It was crafted in such a way so as to allow for the initiative and flexibility required in order for the site to remain updated as often as needed to ensure that it would remain current. Mr. Allen did not agree to this proposition...
In prefix, I want to convey I have much respect for the office staff, especially for the Executive Director, both for the position and for the person in it. It is my intention to offer a resource which will best provide services for the members of OPEIU Local 30 and union-interested people. It is my belief that, to ensure the availability of this resource, certain assurances (below) would be needed. As the assurances are considerable, I will completely understand if the office so chooses not to allow the opeiu30.org site to be the 'official, enorsed' site of the union. Afterall, the union does currently have an excellent official site which only lacks timely maintennance.
Assurances Regarding the Developement and Implementation of OPEIU30.org
A) I will continue the flexibility of having the creative freedom to continue updating and posting labor related materials and subjects of interest for members of our Union in the current, efficient manner.
B) Timely, ongoing access to pertinent information to the members of our Union; (i.e. geeral information of interest [news] of concern to OPEIU Local 30 members working at California Service Center, City of Hope, Conagra, First Future Credit Union, Goldschmid, Silver & Spindel, Kaiser Permanente, SEMCO, United Way, University of Southern California, performance sharing payout information, "News & Views" publishings, memos from the Union office for members, memos from various sources regarding Labor Management Partnership news for members, and other similiar information of interest to members). This information may be conveyed in meetings (such as at the Communications Committee meetings), through emails, faxes, phone conversations, and other appropriate manners.
And one of the following conditions:
C) The website address, "www.local30.org" shall be 'forwarded' to "www.opeiu30.org" which shall then be acepted as the 'official' website of the Union. At the sole discretion of the Executive Director of the Union, the forwarding may cease and I will be notified if/when "www.opeiu30.org" is no longer to be considered the 'official' website of the Union. Following this notice, appropriate adjustments may be made to the website content to reflect it no longer being the 'official' website of the Union.
Or
D) The website addres, "www.opeiu30.org" shall be utilized in place of the "www.Local 30.org" domain and shall then be accepted as the 'official' website of the Union. At the sole discretion of the Executive Director of the Union, the forwarding may cease and I will be notified if/when "www.opeiu30.org" is no longer to be considered the 'official' website of the Union.
