Hi, everyone!

Spring is coming, hope you're all hanging in there!  Today we had rain instead of snow for the first time, and I am ecstatic!  :)

I've now borrowed 3 Sarah Jane DVD's from my library.  I love the stories, and I've loved much of the commentary, but there are a few things that are bugging me.  In _Robot_, Tom Baker made suggestive comments about Elisabeth Sladen's legs.  In _The Hand of Fear_, Tom Baker made suggestive comments about Elisabeth Sladen's  bottom.  I was very excited about my most recent acquisition, _The Pyramids of Mars_, because Tom Baker doesn't do the commentary.  But then Phillip Hinchcliffe made a comment to Elisabeth Sladen about how she should have worn more plunging necklines.  ARRRRRGH!!!  GRRRRRR!!!  Why do these men have to talk about her body?  It is so degrading!  She deserves better.  She always makes such intelligent, analytical observations on her DVD commentary tracks, she is a joy to listen to; it's a shame that she has to put up with these obnoxious comments from the guys.  Does this bother anyone else?

Okay, end of rant.  Thanks for listening.  I must say, of course, that I totally love _The Pyramids of Mars_.  And the DVD includes this hilarious mockumentary featurette about Sutekh's acting career, post-Doctor Who.  It's called "Oh Mummy," and I could not stop laughing at it!

Take care, y'all!

I love all the commentaries and I actually would rather have Tom Baker on the commentary. I think he is hilarious.  I'm so glad to hear that he will do the commentary for Brain of Morbius that is coming out soon. That is one of his favourite stories. I actually don't mind Tom Baker's comments about Elisabeth. He actually loves her to death and she, him. Hence the fantastic relationship between the Docotor and Sarah that....according to one of the producers [can't remember which one] is the best Dr /Companion relationship of all. I agree. Tom Baker is such a funny man. He's so irreverent and will say what he likes. Much of what he says is just him being overly dramatic and saying things for an effect. Often it will have to do with sex but not in a crude way. He would never dream of degrading Elisabeth and that is one of the things she always said about working with him that never was she ever made to feel uncomfortable or do anything that she did not think was right. Tom's comments about Lis' behind was just him being impish and nothing to do with chauvanism etc. I have to say that when he said it , it did grate on me too because I still have this childhood image of the Doctor and Sarah and it is only since the DVDs that I've even seen Elisabeth Sladen as her self and it wasn't until School Reunion  that I saw her as an old woman. The last time I saw her was in the Five Doctors. So it is a bit of an adjustment for me too to be hearing them talk as themselves. And we must remember that it is Tom and Elisabeth on the commentary, not the Doctor and Sarah where that sort of inuendo would be completely un-classic-Doctor Who and inappropriate. YOu obviously have not seen LIttle Britain where Tom Baker does the narration. A totally rude and crude piece of British humour which Tom Baker actually likes.  Our family loves the show but then, we are rude as well. LOL
