One of our readers posed this question recently to the LPR editors:
"Hi There,
Just wondering if anyone knows which Nat perfumery course is best to take which covers tincturing, isolates and fixation in depth?? (If one exists!!)
I have just had a reply from the Grasse Institute on their Nat perfumery course in Sept- (advising if they cover these things) - they said "no - this is a basic course" .
It would be great to know what training anyone felt was most helpful.
I have had a year of aromatherapy -( which was good training for e.o. safety, and familiarisation with the smell of each oil, and I have alot to learn about labelling regs, perfume formulation, better fixation than 3 hours, isolates, the list goes on and I'm going in circles, each time I find a formula I like, I read that some ingredients are being restricted further),
Lisa's article on perfumery education - on your page is excellent, and so is the tincturing info on your site. I would love to hear from anyone who has done a Grasse nat perf course, I'm also looking at Profumo's classes, (held in english in October), and anything that Tony Burfield has coming up.
Thanks for the great website -
Sandi Anderson"
We'd like to invite this reader into the forum so her question can be discussed, and possibly answered.
