Hello! I'll go ahead and get right to the point, keep in mind I have a tendency to be long-winded, so stay with me.
I've recently decided to rewrite the sound subsystem for the GNUstep GUI library (
www.gnustep.org). I had a looked a JACK a few weeks ago, but decided against it because it didn't support the same platforms (Windows, OS X, etc). Well, taking a closer look, I see that JACK2 does support most (if not all) platforms that GNUstep does.
My questions:
1) I guess the most important, what's the status on JACK2? I see on
www.jacksound.org that version 1.9.2 was just released, when is a 2.0 release planned? Is there a roadmap of sorts?
2) Is JACK2 going to keep support for the C API? C++ is not an option. On that note, is the API going to change between JACK1 and JACK2?
I skimmed through the documentation and I liked what I saw, API seems simple enough! I have some more questions just can't remember what they are now.
PS: I haven't signed up to the mailing list, so please include me on the "To" field.
Thanks
Stefan
