R1 info.

Hi

I've just got all the bits to build a R1 special with a 2003 R1
injection engine.

Is there anything I should know before starting to fit the engine?
Or any advice you would give me?
And has anyone got a wiring diagram?

a. Beef up clutch with a second spring plate
b. put a baffle plate in the sump
3. Take care of the lean angle switch (either with a resistance or glueing it)

Joao

Hi Joao

Thanks for the info, do you know where I can get a baffle plate?

And what value of resister do I need for the lean angle switch as that
would be and easier way of doing it for me.

I found a lot of info on this website.

http://www.robcollingridge.com/kitcar/design/engine/index.html

with engine electrics found here

http://www.robcollingridge.com/kitcar/design/engine/electrics.html

hope that helps.

Kind regards,

Maarten

Glenn you've emailed me off list but for some reason all my replies keep
bouncing from both the email addresses you sent.

Feel free to call me on 07768 633435 and I'll talk you through the baffling
you need for your engine.

Cheers

jonathan

RE: Busa wiring & electrics

Hi Guys

Need some help from any of you busa experts out there.

I'm trying to fit a data logging & traction control unit to my busa
hillclimb car but we're getting some very strange signals in the input
channels including the tacho signal from the ECU which is just all over the
place.

One of our lines of thought is the ECU has a resisted earth and this is
changing the voltages. I've found four earths that go into the ECU and all
appear to be just normal. Can anyone remember what size of resistor is used
to fool the ECU the ignition barrel is still there and also where it goes in
the loom as we suspect this might be the cause of the problem.

Thanks

jr

Hi Jonathan,

Here's the list Walt posted ages ago and is what I've done to my FuryBusa.

1.Busa ignition controlled by SIDE STAND & Gear position.
2.In the diagram, look at the "IGNITION SWITCH"
orange/yellow and black/white must have 100 ohm resistor.
This is the anti-theft interlock. You have to solve this problem
first. Attach a resistor.
3. Side-stand switch = short this wire
4. TIP OVER SENSOR = attach with 62k Ohm resistor.
5. Gear position switch = attach 6K ohm resistor
6. If clutch switch is not activated, starter will not engage.

I'm in work and can't access my own wiring schematic to give you more
detail of what I did on my car.

Regards,

Bob
