"[…] it at least is compiling the code before running it" — But it's not! At least not when using "Run File" (Shift+F6). This only does compile-single, which doesn't compile dependee classes that might be out-of-date. I use this on a regular basis, where compiling the whole project would take too long, or because of compiler errors in unrelated parts of the project. In that situation the compilation status is helpful to see which source files I have modified, so I can compile the relevant ones before doing Run File.

Having accurate information about the compilation status is essential, isn't it?”

Honestly, as far as this indicator goes, I would say no… not “essential”.  If the indicators weren’t there at all I probably wouldn’t care.

It’s more important to me that it at least is compiling the code before running it, and it appears that is the case. That’s the essential part.

Please don’t interpret this as not agreeing that the bug should be fixed.  I’ve noticed it as well and it is mildly annoying. I just think that this one isn’t a show-stopper.

I can reproduce this problem easily in RC3. If CoS is turned off the badges do not disappear after building the project (Build or Clean and Build). According to the target milestone it will be fixed in 6.8 (not a good idea IMO. Having accurate information about the compilation status is essential, isn't it?).

(The issue observed by Claudiu is described at the end of  166372 by Jiri Prox, but this is different from what the title of  the bug report says. Thus 166372 is probably invalid and should be replaced with a new bug report).

When CoS is turned on, the "needs to be compiled" badges are never shown, because "Clean" just deletes the build and dist folders in the project's directory structure, but not the files in the var directory used by CoS. Correct?

For me it disappears both with Build Project (F11) and with compile-single (F9). CoS is off of course.

Hi,

Has anyone of you noticed that the "needs to be compiled" badge stays there even if the file is compiled?

Tested on RC3.

Resent due to incomplete subject.
