:-)) I was ahead of you there. I just documented some techniques at:
http://qooxdoo.oss.schlund.de/snippets/how-do-i-see-html-created-by-qooxdooBy far the easiest to use is Firebug as it highlights the applicable item as you wave the cursor around. Unfortunately the highlight then appears in the HTML so highlight the parent - then the item within is clean.
