Hi All

We are thinking of going to the Dry Tortugas in February.  Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks and good birding,

You can fly there for a day or take a cruise for several days.  I did the
flying bit years ago, but you miss good views of the tern colonies.  Larry
Manfredi runs boat based tours there every Spring.  He was great guide for
me in the Everglades & Miami a few weeks ago.

You can get day trips out of Key West.  Primitive camping is allowed, but
you must take everything with you, including water.

I've been there three times in May, but I would think February is probably
too early for the breeders: the terns, frigatebirds, boobies, etc, and also
for the migrants.  Even so, Fort Jeff is a magic place and the snorkeling is
always good.

Cheers.

Bob
