Hi,

when I connect my mobile phone to my laptop with a USB cable, the
drivers load automatically, but the MAC address of the newly created
interface is zero. See below.

I use now the 2.6.28-14-generic kernel of Ubuntu, and its drivers but
I also tried out the SynCE-patched version of the driver with the same
result.

Of course I cannot set any IP-address to the interface either.

Does anybody have and idea how to get around this?

Thanks,

Miklos

Now that's just bizarre.

Can you please send the output of dmesg, and lsusb -v for the device.

Reply to the list, I am not all-knowing.

What version kernel ? Previously you said 2.6.28, now you say 2.6.18 ?

You definitely need to patch, how exactly are you doing it ?

The lsusb output included lots of things but not your device, send the
output for your device ONLY.
