If yes, how difficult will it be to set it up? Can (will) red5 be able to send rtp/rtsp strems to non rtmp aware clients/devices such as an iPhone? Thank you for shedding light on my questions. I found different posts and articles on internet but they are a bit dated and they don't all anwser my questions. Basically I am reviewing Red5 VS Wowza before making the jump. _______________________________________________ Red5 mailing list Red5@... http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/red5_osflash.org |

Re: RTSP/RTP supportActually my first question boils down to: what else than Flash player
can I use to (easily) stream videos to red5? _______________________________________________ Red5 mailing list Red5@... http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/red5_osflash.org |

Re: RTSP/RTP supportI second this question :)
I have been evaluting red5 and darwin(apple) streaming server for live and vod type situations and if red5 can/will offer plain h.264 streaming to let's say quicktime player and flash...I would say it's a better solution then DSS. -Eiki On Oct 17, 2009, at 1:46 PM, Thomas wrote: >> Right now, RTP/RTSP is not supported. Re: RTSP/RTP supportAny release date concerning RTSP support? I need to know where I'm
going, and what to work on. Is it going to be: 1) Next week? 2) Next month? 3) Next year? Thank you -- VOD & visioconference - http://www.digiprof.tv _______________________________________________ Red5 mailing list Red5@... http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/red5_osflash.org |

Re: RTSP/RTP supportSince I believe I've got the ball on this one, I would say by the 1st of January 2010. This is for native support of RTP/RTSP in Red5. You also have the option to use RTSP now in Red5 using Xuggler; there are several samples of this identified on this list and the xuggle list, google is your friend.

I'm not too hot about xuggle because I want to keep things simple and self contained inside red5, and not add millions of dependencies, like big blue button has for instance. -- VOD & visioconference - http://www.digiprof.tv _______________________________________________ Red5 mailing list Red5@... http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/red5_osflash.org |

Re: RTSP/RTP supportOh by the way, when red5 will do rtsp on the 1st of january 2010, will
it allow for VOD streaming using rtsp to iphones and stuff like that? Because it seems wowza (which currently only supports receiving rtsp) will not be able to do that at that same date. So it could be a good selling point over the competitor ;-) -- VOD & visioconference - http://www.digiprof.tv _______________________________________________ Red5 mailing list Red5@... http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/red5_osflash.org |
