Hi,
try this:
make a connection to your desktop-computer via serial cable, start a  
terminal-program (TeratermPro or Hyperterminal or what you like). The  
Bootloader-Prompt should appear ... boot>
The following command should work:
copy hda1:opie.jffs2 root
(BTW, I suggest to rename the l.o.n.g filename  
opie-image-h3900-20050407140814.rootfs.jffs2 to opie.jffs2)
