I've said as much to you privately already, but this is a second major
blow to Mandriva.
I was quietly hoping that things would be negotiated in your favour and
there would be a way for you to stay, but I guess that hasn't happened
yet (I living in hope).
My day job depends on the LAMP stack and I've been so very appreciative
of your dedication to creating such a good stack in Mandriva.
Without you at the helm with this I feel totally demoralised, not to
mention quite concerned about what will happen to the tools and software
that I depend on. I don't want to state the obvious but I contribute to
Mandriva because I want my own desktop experience to be better, and I
hope the work I do helps others too. If the LAMP stack in Mandriva
suffers and I am forced to find a more reliable version in a different
distro (I certainly don't have time to take over the maintenance) then I
will not be using Mandriva on my desktop any more. You can join the rest
of the dots.
I really hope it doesn't come to that (this is not a threat or ultimatum
- I'm sure I don't hold enough sway to make that worthwhile!) and it
will take a while to see how badly this will affect things, but I have a
really bad feeling right now.
I know Mandriva has had it's fair share of ups and downs in the past but
this really feels a very low point.
I really hope some very decisive action for the management will be
released to us soon that will help restore some confidence.
