Chris, thanks for forwarding. I'm cc'ing the gallery-devel mailing list
where perhaps some kind soul will help Bob.
Bob, our dev team is heads down focused on Gallery 3. If you jump into
irc and ask, you may get some help, but forums are pretty much the only
line of support if you want help.
I'm sure what you're asking for is simple. But there is an endless
stream of people with "just one quick question". I don't have clients
who pay me to work on this stuff-- quite the opposite: I have a lot of
other demands on my time. But since I do this for free I get to choose
where I spend my time and in this particular case I (and most of the
other devs) have drawn the line at G2 and are no longer focusing any
energy on it. This allows us to focus energy on making G3 the best
product we can. I have specifically asked Chris to redirect people to
the support channels where users can help each other.
In general, I probably wouldn't even reply to this except that every
once in a while it bears repeating that we get to choose our own
destiny. Those who benefit from our work don't have a claim on our
time. If you're civil and work with us and (more importantly) seek to
help yourself, you'll get help. There's documentation, there's IRC,
there's forums, there's this development mailing list. Chris is
actively trying to give you tools to help yourself and you're berating
him for not doing more? Where's the equity there?
