You're right of course, I don't know, except that in the past I've managed
to get a non-macports build of xcircuit running without this problem,
while using the macports tcl/tk.
When I've got time I'll have a look at reinstalling it and making sure of
which version of Wish tlc/tk it is actually using.
Also, if you will forgive my stupidity, what do you mean by "upstream"?
