Is it a big site? How many objects? (pages, posts, items etc)

We should try and find out where the cut off point is regarding both memory and timeouts for this, or (someone clever) devise a way of doing the rebuild in chunks somehow (i'll do a nice ajax progress bar for feedback if that's possible!)

The alternative is to use the shell script, which i think defaults to no time or memory limits.
