For people who are amused by such questions, the project's Ohloh's page [1] can be mined for numerous visualizations of questionable relevance such as [2].
Because of it's relatively long and well-documented history (4 years at IBM + 7 years at sourceforge), Jikes RVM is also one of the projects being used in a study of software development by distributed teams by a collaboration between groups at IBM and CMU. I don't think anything has been published on this yet, but if it does it might be an interesting read.
