I have built octave3.2.1-rc4 with Mingw-GCC-4.3.3-TDM-dw2.
d:\usr\Tatsu\mingwhome\octaves\octave-3.2.1-rc4\src\data.cc PASS 500/509 FAIL 9
test_string.m .......................................... PASS 78/79 FAIL 1
Summary:
PASS 5730
FAIL 10
The above failures are already known.
