Slightly off topic, but 3d priting excites me enormously: here are a couple of
projects I've been tracking:

http://shapeways.com/ <- do your own 3d printing
http://reprap.org/ <- self-printing 3d printer

It would be so cool if an indie game also produced indie game character toys.
Might be an interesting way to fund development.
