The "AT_EXIT" hack IS part of Mark Kilgard's GLUT (I'm looking at the source
for 3.7.6).  The comment explaining the need for it at the bottom of
freeglut_std.h appears copied verbatim from MK's original glut.h as do the
function prototypes for __glutInitWithExit and glutInit_ATEXIT_HACK

        Just for the record, it occurs to me that since the "AT_EXIT" hack
isn't part of Mark Kilgard's GLUT it isn't covered under his copyright.  So
if the fat hits the fire, that is one thing that will not be spattering.

        All the same, I'd prefer that we not cut and paste code from
elsewhere.
