Michael, please verify and acknowledge that Gregory's
calendar declaration includes a system of altering the
placement of the Golden Numbers in the Julian calendar
by means of shifting epacts in a regimen that shifts the
epacts of the Golden numbers in the Gregorian calendar
on January 1sts. of centurial years (e.g. 1700) and having
effect for whole centuries which end in 99th. years (e.g.
December 31st. 1899).

I have never disputed the fact that the year 1601 is widely
considered the first year of the seventeenth century. That
has nothing to do with the technical truths behind the design
of the Gregorian and ISO-leap-week calendars.
