Hello,

When I update my samba backport, it fails because of a libpam-runtime
dependency error:

petole:~# apt-get -s -t lenny-backports install samba
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  samba: Depends: libpam-runtime (>= 1.0.1-11) but 1.0.1-5+lenny1 is
  to be installed
E: Broken packages

Am I missing something ?

Thanks,

Nicolas

Hmmm, mumble, mumble, mumble.

I forgot about PAM-related changes that Steve introduced in unstable's
samba and that are incompatible with the PAM packages version in
lenny.

That failed to be checked properly because I hurried (a little bit too
much) to have this version in bpo as this is a security fix.

I'll try to unapply the PAM-releated changes and upload a +2 version
in bpo.

Thanks for reporting this.
