Thank you, John for coming up with this idea. You are a soldier !!

My thought is that such a network would have to be set up with an agreed
political basis which is different from just 'catch-all who are interested
in the environment'. It would be impossible to organise effective campaigns
otherwise (and if it wasn't campaigning hard I wouldn't be interested). I
don't want to join another body which stretches politically across the
spectrum and has no sense of an agreed project.

That is one reason why the old Environment Forum failed, I think.
