Got it!
In the end, I had to go through the following:
1) Uninstall
2) Create all of the following keys:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AnkhUserControlHost.Ankh]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AnkhUserControlHost.Ankh\CLSID]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AnkhUserControlHost.AnkhUserControlHostCtl]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AnkhUserControlHost.AnkhUserControlHostCtl\CLSID]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AnkhUserControlHost.AnkhUserControlHostCtl.1\CLSID]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AnkhUserControlHost.AnkhUserControlHostCtl.1\CLSID]
3) Install
4) Run VS 2005 - all is well!
So, I don't know what was going on, but that appears (at first glance,
anyway) to have fixed things. If anyone has any idea why the installer
would create things that regedit (as admin) can't read, I'd be happy to
hear it :)
