I've noticed this sequence too, but as far as I'm
aware it's always been like that (ie with vmdist).
For some reason you have to hit enter or something
before the rest of the logon messages come up.
I normally use a .rc file that has a "set blip off"
in it as the first command after logon, and that
seems to mask things for my normal usage so it's
never bothered me enough to ask.
