If you're listening to sat radio or your ipod, you wouldn't hear
anything about local traffic incidents or construction. I don't know
how the stand alone units work, but my wife's car has real time
traffic and it works well. Coupled with the nav, it alerts you to
incidents and provides suggested routes to avoid them.
