I have Garmin Nuvi. I use it in the car and on the bike (have a ram mount that's waterproof)have had no problems and it's not that expensive. I also have XM radio (well Sirius/XM) they used to have a really good traffic channel on it for the Wash DC/Metro area. That was updated really quickly. Saved me a lot of time then but now they've lumped Baltimore into it too and now it's not so good.

Doesn't the Tom Tom give updates on the traffic too. That would be a option. Check them out on Amazon.com they usually have really good customer reviews on stuff.

BTW I on the ride home on the bike yesterday I saw so many wannabe Lance Armstrong's out and about. They would ride 3-4 wide through the park and ignore the rest of the traffic. I actually had a couple of bikes riding the double yellow into oncoming traffice. Share the road huh. My middle finger is tired. Had to vent.

The stand alone units, at least for Garmin are fed off of MSN. Nuff
said on THAT. Tom Tom has their own service
and I haven't tried it but I understand it's free if you buy their
specialized charging plug.
