Wayne let loose:

Ah, summertime.  When a young man's hate is directed towards asshole
bicyclists.

I know I've ranted about them in the past, but living on Thurston Rd
(near Sugarloaf Mtn - straddling the Mont/Fred Co lines) I have to
deal with these assholes every single day.  My road is like the
asshole bicyclist mecca.  They are generally just 1 or 2 deep during
the week (I only saw 6 total so far today), but can be as many as 2
dozen *per pack* on the weekends.  Usually it's smaller groups like
4-8, though.

[Dave]  damn.  That is bogus.  If you're on the bike, here's another trick
to
Give them a serious dose of their own medicine.  Join their group.

Yeah, it costs you time & sometimes you have to weave up to be in the heart
of the
Group but it's worth it.  Weave your way right into the middle & pace them.

There you are smack dab in the middle like a bowling ball in a china store.

Try to impress them with your 2 wheeled prowess.  I like to do this in 2nd,
but I
Find that 1st gear is more effective at getting the message across.
Eventually,
After a few minutes of internal combustion aural stimulation you should be
on their
Nerves enough for them to stop.  If that doesn't do it, use them like cones
and slow
Ride through them, then drift back to the back, repeat as needed.

I've found the latter just absolutely infuriates them.  After about the
dozenth curse
I interjected "I was just trying to hang out with my 2 wheel brothers &
sisters"
Then the women riders started cursing me.  Once they were done exercising
their potty
Mouths, I relayed to them I didn't much appreciate their rolling road block,
and that
Legally they were obstructing traffic under VA law, don't do it again.

More cursing, blah, blah, blah.  Whatever.  I got my slow ride practice in,
and had some fun.
I didn't say that they were legal once the limit dropped to 25 but that's
only a short area and they were going
Like 15-18 in a 45 zone across both lanes of the parkway.

WE:
As I was leaving my driveway this morning, 2 bicyclists passed.  I
pulled in behind them, about 5 car lengths back and waited for an
opportunity to pass.  As I found a spot to pass, one of the bicyclists
must have spotted something - she looked left and swung all the way
over from the white to the double yellow.  Luckily, I always give them
plenty of room when I pass, but she would have run into the side of my
car had I not given her the entire right lane.

On top of the inconsiderate assholes who ride next to each other,
preventing cars/MCs from passing, I get to deal with the fucktards who
throw trash in my yard.

[Dave]  litterbugs.  Right up there with bike thieves & unlocked foot
lockers.
Whatever they toss, make the tosser eat it.  Whatever happened to "Keep
America Beautiful" ?

I've found discarded inner tubes and plenty
of snacks/gel packs.  I can't see all of my property from my house, so
I never see when people decide to stop along my road frontage.  Every
summer, I pray to Joe Pesci (Carlin and I share the same religious
beliefs) that I'll see someone throwing trash or trespassing on my
property.  I'm sure all of you will read about it when I finally get
to *talk* to the person.  ;-)

[Dave]  We'll keep an eye out for the mushroom cloud.

I know not all bicyclists are shitheads, but I encounter plenty of
them daily on my road  :-(

[Dave] $hitheads represent all walks of life.

BTW, I always give them plenty of room, even on my 2 wheeler.  The
last thing I want to do while riding or driving is to run into someone
on a bicycle.

[Dave]  Yeah, I was hit on my bicycle when I was a kid.  I'm not going
To go vigilante on them.  But it does really hurt my feelings when they
Go all ape $hit on a 2 wheeled brother and all.  ;-)
