You are right the way ahead is far from clear - Its appears to be the decline of the West and the rise of Russia and possibly Asia.
Some more ideas
Britain should end its role of the Global policeman's little brother, for a start bring back the 20,000 British troops in Germany and get them spending their salaries in British shops and help with the people that get flooded. Germany is rich enough to protect itself. Stay out of the Balkans this has been going on since before the 2nd World War. Anyone that wants our troops there should make sure they contribute a proportion to the costs 'if' Britain is judged to be the best option for peace but I doubt that. It is a disgrace that our soldiers have inadequate supplies and recovery facilities remember the swimming pool incident.
The NHS is a 'sick' joke - its role should be mainly just an A & E unit, people with degenerative diseases should be given dietary and nutritional info to 'cure' their diseases that would save Billions in payments to the Pharmaceuticals and for the tax payer. Check out Max Gerson the doctor that was curing diet with cancer he lost by 4 votes in the uS senate in favout of chemotherapy. Perhaps people over a certain age should continue to be treated but say everyone under 30 has to take responsilibity for thoer own health.
For a start ban GM & Nanotechnology in foods ban pesticides (Israel has and has seen its cancer rates drop). Instead grow organics this is a booming industry and like RP says leave alternative health alone.
Ban vaccinations that would save Billions as well, a lecture by a senior doctor I attended advised that Autism had increased by 800% since vaccinations were introduced. Also check SIV40 in relation to the Polo vaccine ( a monkey virus that is carcinogenic)
Look at landownership (this could start a civil war) but Britain & Spain are the only countries in Europe that have not had any land reformation. The big landowners also get a big rebate from Europe. So someone benefits from Europe!
Withdraw from Europe and restart our Fishing industry - Cod is back. Alos remove the red tape from Business.
So apart from fish and organics and hiring out our Forces what else could we export?
Financial Services -well I think they would have done a runner if all the above was implemented but maybe the above has got a few brain cells thinking and as for energy check out the stories about Tesla perhaps cheap energy is all around us........
