Hi.
I also have this problem.
In my case the bad payes have been created by using the ofx importer in
version 0.93

I imported and ofx then edited the transactions to make them have the
correct payee.
Then proceed to the payee's list.
This shows no transactions against the bad payee, which is correct.

However it is impossible to delete the bad payee as kmymoney thinks
there are are transactions.

I also examined the XML file and found them to be involved in some kind
of split transaction.
Unlike Michael I am unwilling to edit the file in any way.

I now have about 6 of these bad payees.

I have updated to the cvs version of today but that still does not let
me delete these payees.

Regards,

John

No, just open the payees view and delete the payee. In case it still has a
reference to some other object, you will have to supply a different
payee to
which those objects will be attached.

Does that solve your problem?

Ah, that's a good hint. That could have been caused when matching to the
correct payee. I need to check that.

No, since the problem will remain in the data file. You can try to edit the
transactions in question, assign them a different payee manually and then save
them. Then do the same but using the correct payee. Once you're done with all
those 6 transactions, you should be able to delete the payee. Please report
back your findings.

Hi Thomas,
Unfortunately I don't know what the transactions are.
In the "Payee" panel, the Transactions tab shows no transactions.
I think I may have to eventually edit the XML.

John

Yes, to find out what those transactions are. Not to modify it in the first
place.

Hi Thomas,

I've  just edited the xml file.
The payee reference is held in the Pair "kmm_matched_txt".

Deleting the payee and this pair seems to fix it.

I'll let you know if the problem recurrs.

Regards,

John
