I figured I'd just fold up the playmat so that it's small enough to fit in my pocket with my deck. If I keep the deck and playmat together, I'll never be stuck playing a game without it.

Or, if you already have the pencil and paper, just draw yourself some stat meters like the ones on the playmat, and either use some change or torn-off bits of paper as counters.
