sounds quite nice. As not every user, who is using calendar, is using infolog, the infolog-creation figure should be optional (configuration).
A way to handle it at the moment, would be to change the title- "to be recheduled: old title" and to set the event as non blocking.

Guys,
A great addition to calendar would be a small checkbox on each calendar
entry that would allow an existing calendar entry to be marked as
rescheduled without ever having to open the calendar event in the
editor. The event would remain on the calendar display but would be
removed from the free/busy system and an infolog todo to "Reschedule
<calendar event name> would be generated.
This would handle the problem that arises when an event is rescheduled
but you do not yet know when it will be rescheduled. That way all of the
calendar entry data isn't lost by delete and can be simply moved once
the reschedule date and time is known.
My first thought was a simple [R] icon on the top right of each
calendar entry next to the people icon would do.
