Re: Canon pixma ip4300 printing every color withunderlaid grey
Hi, Have you tried with the <a href="https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters/CanonPrinters/CanonPixmaIP4200#preview">Canon driver</a> (you will have to translate these instructions for your particular distro)? Perhaps there is something causing your printer to dump extra black ink down. He has the right driver. It's not simply printing too much black ink. I looked at the scan, and it's actually printing composite gray -- almost like for whatever reason it's trying to desaturate the output somewhat. Actually, for the original poster, this gives me another clue: could you try setting the Color Correction to Uncorrected? I this a problem only for me? Or a problem of openSuse? Should I file a bugreport in the openSuse bugzilla to resolv this for others also? Now it would be nice if I could print with all the resolution the printer can print, but I'm going to open another thread for this. What setting did you use for gamma? The previous settings were created by someone else and they seemed to have worked for him so I'm undecided on what to do now :( Regards Sascha ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. The settings before where exactly as posted in the mail to me. Do you want me to send you information, files...? Re: Canon pixma ip4300 printing every color withunderlaid greyHi,
> > Do you want me to send you information, files...? > > Are these settings also ok for photo like images? no, actually not :-( I printed it with turboprint (old version) and gutenprint. In the scan you can see the difference. Although the scan is not giving an idea about the "real" colors, it gives an idea about the difference. The upper turboprint image is just like it should, and the gutenprint is far to dark and gives an impression of grey rather than color. BTW can the turboprint driver I have installed here be helpful to get the information needed to implement borderless printing and high resolutions? I don't have the time to work on borderless printing support, though. Also you should not expect much improvement from the higher resolutions. The image might still be to dark etc. Getting the colors right is a lot of work and the canon gutenprint driver does not produce photo quality for other printers, either.
