I also don't think it makes sense given the changes made (and needed) to
do 1.0 so fast. On the other hand, it might be better to push a 1.0 out,
let the community use it for 6 months, and then make the necessary
changes for a 2.0 that will be the more stable long term release. I
think the current track means that 1.0 will really be a public beta and
2.0 will be the real 1.0.
