Without seeing the tiffs, it is difficult to be specific. I could
imagine that you have one of the following:
- strange dimensions for the tiffs (for example very long, very
narrow, very small)
- strange shapes for the images in the tiffs (very small, with holes,
non connected)
- an issue with one of the tiffs (have you tried deleting one of the
"redundant" images?)
It would be interesting to know the pto that generated this, since I
agree with you, this should be avoided,
