Hello Chris,
the one I used was this one:
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=28140-NDParallax: RFID Reader Module (#28140)
The tags are:
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=28141-NDNote I didn't buy them from digikey, I just find digikey the easiest
place to find pretty much anything.
The spit out straight ASCII of the serial number of the tag when brought
into range. There is also a line available to control the colour of the
LED on the reader (red to green).
In my case initial testing was with the reader connected to a PC. The
finished project is the reader connected to a PIC that controls the
garage door, and reports status over ethernet.
