Initially didn't work here cause libpurple did not get updated to
version 2.1.0 with: yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update pidgin
With pidgin 2.1.0 and libpurple 2.0.2 I got:
[patrick@localhost ~]$ pidgin
pidgin: symbol lookup error: pidgin: undefined symbol:
purple_core_ensure_single_instance
After updating libpurple from 2.0.2 to 2.1.0 everything was fine. A
brief peek in the spec file shows that libpurple-devel 2.1.0 is a
Requires for pidgin-devel but there is no Requires: libpurple = 2.1.0
for the main pidgin package. Perhaps this should be added?

Patrick
