« Return to Thread: Firebug crashing Firefox for some sites
Firebug is great. Absolutely indispensable. But you know that.
Unfortunately, about a week ago it started crashing every few pages
that I tried to load. Hmmm.
The symptom is that the page will part load and then Firefox will
freeze completely and has to be stopped and re-started. It is a
completely reproducible problem and so for me happens (for example)
every time I try to access the following page - http://tutorials.zen-cart.com.
It can be stopped by disabling Firebug for the sites in question. But
as that's roughly 1in 5 sites that I have tried to visit in the few
days and Firefox needs to be re-started every time, before the page
can be disabled for the future, surfing (or research as I prefer to
call it) has become a real drag.
I was using Firebug 1.05 until this morning, when I upgraded to 1.1b4,
but have seen no change as a result of the upgrade. Other obvious
steps like flushing my cache have been done, and I'm not the only
person having this problem (I've been contacted by others asking if I
know how to fix it!)
Any suggestions would be most welcome. Or is it a real bug?
