That's one thing that has always bothered me about Firefox. It's not
that they're not committed to web standards, but it is definitely not
one of their priorities. While Safari and Opera worked hard to ensure
their next browser releases passed the Acid 2 and then the Acid 3
test, Firefox seems to always wait for the next two releases. (This
release doesn't pass the Acid 3 test)
I've been playing with the new Opera 10 beta and have been much more
impressed then previous versions. The program actually starts quickly
on my Mac, and I like what they've done with the new UI. It's become
my secondary browser of choice lately and is definitely worth a look.
