Hmmm... all this sucks.
To the best of my knowledge, there should be no difference in the
behaviour of the driver between 0.17.1 and 0.17.2-rc1...

Are you sure you have some problems with 0.17.2-rc1 that you did not
have with 0.17.1? Can you try to rebuild 0.17.1 modules and check if the
difference persists?

If it persists, some (possibly boring) tests will be needed to find
which change actually broke something? Will you be willing to perform
such tests?

As for the logs, you are right, some indication should definitely be
added to know what card is concerned. But this will be for after 0.17.2.
